The Equator as well as the Rift Valley runs through Uganda, resulting in a very unique eco-system. Uganda is also well known for its game reserves, magnificent scenery, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and rich culture. It is said that the people of Uganda is the friendliest in Africa. Queen Elizabeth National Park is described by many as the most beautiful park in Africa. Our tour includes visits to all the above among other national parks of Uganda. The highlight of the tour is gorilla trekking and a close-up encounter with a family of silver backs in their natural habitat in the Bwindi forest. This is surely an experience of a life time……really life enriching!
Accommodation is based on a standard double/ twin or single room in your choice of accommodation. This can either be budget, mid range or high end. Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport and you will be met by our local guide for your transfer to the hotel in Entebbe. You will remember that it was at Entebbe where the Israelis heroically released hostages that was on a hijacked Air France Airbus in 1976. Day 2: Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary
Visit Ngamba Island departing from Entebbe by a motorized canoe. This is a chimps sanctuary all chimps here have been rescued from or have been orphaned by poachers. Join in the feeding of the chimpanzees when they come out of their excursion from the forest. Thereafter drive to your hotel in Kampala for your overnight stay. Day 3:Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Breakfast at the hotel.
Check- out and depart from Kampala heading southwest across the country, to Mbarara home to the impressive long horn Ankole cattle. A huge experience today is crossing the Equator. Have lunch in Mbarara and continue our drive to the Bwindi National Park. The Bwindi Area is a highly fertile, mountainous region with steep sided hills covered from top to bottom in neatly terraced rows of cultivation. You are really driving through the “Banana Republic” with plantations all around you, steep, hills, small rivers………. just amazing scenery.
Arrive in the evening at the park and check – in at accommodation.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking
Today you will enjoy surely! After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip – Gorilla trekking – which may last the entire day. We trek through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be totally forgotten. These gentle giants are highly endangered and anyone suffering even the slightest of ailments, including a cough will not be allowed to go the trek. When sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 meters from the gorilla, sit around them for a whole sometimes weigh up to 250 Kilos. Pictures with non flash lens can be taken.
Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
We set out early morning walk through beautiful forest grasslands as we head towards the breathtaking adventure of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park. Relax mid- morning as you take in the splendor of the surroundings and then head to Munyaga waterfalls. More than 230 different species of birds have been sighted here. We do a community walk in the evening.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, we set off for Queen Elizabeth national Park. This Park lies across the equator and is bordered to the southwest by Lake Edward and to the northeast by Lake George. Either (roads permitting) we will pass the southern sector of the park – Ishasha, a remote and beautiful extension of Queen Elizabeth National Park that is host to a large variety and volume of wildlife. (This is fabulous site to see the lions draped from the tree and nowhere in Africa do you stand a better chance of seeing this than in cultivated expanses of south western Uganda.
We arrive at Mweya Lodge for lunch and cool down. Then we cruise along the kazinga channel. The boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel takes about 2 hours and you can expect to see plenty of hippos and a wide range of birdlife.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drives in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, Elephants, solitary buffaloes. This is the best time fro opportunities of viewing the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. We have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at very close range. Later, return for breakfast and the rest of the morning can be spent at the poolside. After lunch, we set out to visit the Baboon cliff and the crater lakes north of the park.
Day 8: Kyambura Gorge, Transfer to Kampala
Breakfast and head to Kyambura wildlife reserve. An excursion to Kyambura Gorge nearby to track the fast moving and elusive chimpanzees, one of man’s closest relations. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing is unpredictable but the walk is enchanting. The beautiful river valley is home to many species of birds and butterflies.
